How do you ......

punish your mother for travelling halfway across the world to see you for a week? You send her and the nanny to get a 2 year olds blood drawn! Ryan has had multiple blood draws and finally we found a lab with a person that could do them quickly and with the least amount of fuss. She truly was a godsend. So as work is crazy at the moment and I can never get 5 mins (of 120 mins in reality) to take Ryan for yet another blood draw I figured this was something that my mum could knock out while she was here visiting. Turns out the lady we loved has left the lab so my mum was confronted with 2 people that had no intention of giving anything over 25% effort to get blood from Ryan. Ugh, I'm not sure why these labs say they have pediatric specialist on staff, and even assure you of this when you call to make sure, when they actually have no intention of even remotely trying when you get there. Good for my mum though, she insisted they tried again after letting Ryan relax for 30 mins and the second time was a success. So peds requested tests have been sent, and we just have the pulmonologists additional blood tests and sweat test to do. Luckily they want these done at the hospital so hopefully that will be less painful for all involved. Now I just have to find the time .....

That's awful! Do you have a children's hospital within an hour of you? I'd check them out...ours is really good with all things that you'd think would be awful. (And we've been there plenty!)
